Golf Betting on PGA Championship at SBG Global
The PGA Championship is the final golf major of the year for golf betting fans. The 2007 PGA Championship will have another great field led by defending champion Tiger Woods. The 89th PGA Championship at Southern Hills should provide a lot of golf betting excitement. The last time the course hosted a major event was in 2001 when Retief Goosen outlasted Mark Brooks in a playoff to win the U.S. Open as golf betting fans watched.
The 2007 golf betting season has seen three different winners of a major and none are named Tiger Woods. Zach Johnson won the Masters, Angel Cabrera won the U.S. Open and Padraig Harrington won the British Open. The big golf betting news would be Tiger not winning a major this year. There are only two years since 1999 that he hasn't won a major for golf betting fans, 2003 and 2004.
There are a number of golf betting contenders for the PGA Championship but Tiger is the favorite. Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson will definitely be part of golf betting fans choices. Other golf betting contenders may be Jim Furyk if he is healthy enough to play, Ernie Els, David Toms and Mike Weir. Another golfer for golf betting fans to watch that is way overdue is Sergio Garcia. It looked like the British Open would be his breakthrough but it was not to be as golf betting fans looked on.
Another golfer that continues to contend and that golf betting fans should watch is Steve Stricker. He had a closing 74 in the British Open and fell to eighth place but he tied for 13th at the U.S. Open, has two second-place finishes this year and could be in the hunt. Other popular golf betting picks may be Luke Donald (who tied for 10th at the Masters) and Sean O'Hair in addition to everyone’s favorite runner-up, Chris DiMarco.
Tiger is the golf betting favorite this week in the PGA Championship and for good reason. It was unthinkable before the season began that Tiger wouldn’t win at least one major this season. The PGA Championship is his final chance in 2007 and he is definitely worthy of being the golf betting favorite. Phil Mickelson will probably be the second choice in the betting but he has done nothing but disappoint fans all year long and probably is not a good choice to win this week.
