Meadowlands Betting Horse Racing Tracks

The Meadowlands Racetrack, including the main building, horse barns and site, was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm of Ewing Cole, who also designed a number of other track facilities around the world as well as Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The "Big M" has been known for exceptional times for harness racing. The world record for a mile by a standardbred, 1:47 3/5 by Jenna's Beach Boy, was established at the track on June 22, 1996. The track is operated by the New Jersey Sports and Exhibiton Authority.

The 2000 Hambletonian drew a crowd of 30,026, the best in six years, and the total wagering of $7,724,420 on the 15-race card was a Hambletonian, Meadowlands and harness racing single-day record. Hall of Fame driver John Campbell reached $100 million in career earnings at the Meadowlands, an unprecedented feat for a driver or jockey at a single racetrack.
