Saratoga Race Course is also known as the "Graveyard of Favorites" for the upsets that have occurred. Man 0' War suffered his only defeat in 21 starts while racing at Saratoga and Gallant Fox was beaten by a 100-1 shot named "Jim Dandy" in the 1930 Travers Stakes.
Saratoga Springs is a town of about 27,000 whose population triples each summer during the racing season. The town was named winner of the “Great Place Award” by American Heritage magazine in 1997, Saratoga 's Broadway is considered among the best Main Streets in the country.
