NBA Draft Odds and Picks

NBA Draft picks for the 2009 NBA Draft on Thursday, June 25th should be interesting although the top pick has already been determined.

The Los Angeles Clippers are expected to take Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin with the first pick in the 2009 NBA Draft but after the top pick things could get interesting.

NBA Draft picks and NBA Draft predictions are somewhat split on the second pick. Memphis owns the second pick and most people believe they will go with Ricky Rubio, a point guard out of Spain. The better of the NBA Draft picks though might be Connecticut’s Hasheem Thabeet who could go third to Oklahoma City. International players are always a risk so it will be interesting to see if Memphis goes with Rubio or if they decide to take Thabeet. Sacramento holds the fourth pick and is targeting Arizona State’s James Harden.

Washington picks 5th and NBA Draft predictions have them looking at Arizona’s Jordan Hill. Minnesota is 6th and might be looking at Memphis shooting guard Tyreke Evans as NBA Draft odds indicate. Golden State is 7th and Jrue Holliday out of UCLA would be a popular pick since it would keep him close to home. New York could also take a hometown star with the 8th pick if they go with Syracuse’s Jonny Flynn as is predicted in the 2009 NBA mock draft. Toronto might be looking at USC’s DeMar DeRozan while Milwaukee rounds out the Top 10 and could go with Davidson superstar Stephen Curry in NBA Draft odds.

Most of the players listed are expected to go in the Top 10 although the NBA Draft betting order could be changed. Griffin is going to go first but Thabeet could easily be the second choice in NBA Draft betting with Rubio moving down.
