Pittsburgh Steelers 2006 Review

2007 football betting Preview: The AFC Central is a tough division. The Bengals and Ravens are playoff contenders and the Steelers rarely have an easy game. This football betting season the key will be how well quarterback Ben Roethlisburger bounces back from a subpar year and how Tomlin adjusts the defense. For this important NFL betting season the offense does have talent with Willie Parker and Hines Ward and should improve upon last year’s performance if Big Ben responds.

The 2007 football betting schedule includes home/away games with their AFC North Division rivals of Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland. The Pittsburgh Steelers also get the weaker NFC West along with the AFC East. The football betting schedule does not do Pittsburgh any favors late in the year when they have to play at AFC West power Denver and at AFC East power New England. Pittsburgh will be on Monday Night Football two times in addition to a Sunday night game on NBC and a late season game on the NFL Network.

Offense: Willie Parker was great last football betting season in his first full year as the main running back in Pittsburgh. The problem was that Ben Roethlisburger was not. Roethlisburger was nothing like he was in the Super Bowl football betting year and needs to step up his performances if the Steelers are to get back into the playoffs. Hines Ward is an excellent receiver but the team needs other options. They will also miss retired center Jeff Hartings this NFL betting season.

Defense: For this football betting season the defense is just not good enough right now to win a Super Bowl and that is a surprise. James Farrior is an excellent linebacker and Troy Polamalu is a big time hitter in the secondary but the other players are not well known and finishing 9th in NFL betting in defense is not going to get in done in Pittsburgh.

Forecast for the 2007 NFL betting season: The key for the Pittsburgh Steelers on this football betting season is going to be how well Tomlin meshes with the players as the new head coach and if Big Ben gets back to Super Bowl form. If these two things don’t happen then the Steelers may be looking at another year of missing the playoffs.
