New England Patriots NFL Point Spreads

New England became only the second team in NFL history to finish a regular season undefeated.

Unfortunately for the Patriots, that perfect regular season will just be a footnote in history as they lost Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants by a score of 17-14. The Patriots were an offensive machine during the regular season as they set NFL records of 589 points scored in a season, most TD passes in a season (50 by Tom Brady) and most TD catches in a season, (23 by Randy Moss). Point Spreads show that the defense was okay for New England but nothing special.

NFL Point Spreads data shows that eight Patriots made the Pro Bowl. They were quarterback Tom Brady, wide receiver Randy Moss, offensive tackle Matt Light, guard Logan Mankins, cornerback Asante Samuel, linebacker Mike Vrabel, defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and center Dan Koppen.

Looking forward to 2008 NFL Point Spreads on New England games will still be high but the Patriots do have some question marks. They lost top cornerback Assante Samuel in the off-season and the defense is getting old.
