AFC & NFC Championship Game NFL Odds
NFL odds are down to the final four with the New Orleans Saints favored against the Minnesota Vikings and the Indianapolis Colts favored against the New York Jets.
The Saints are laying 4.5 points to Minnesota while the Colts are more than a touchdown favorite in NFL betting lines against the Jets.
NFL odds this past weekend had three of the four home teams winning easily. The Saints routed Arizona; Minnesota humiliated Dallas while Indianapolis dominated Baltimore. The one underdog that came through in NFL odds was the New York Jets who shocked San Diego.
Neither of the NFC games was even remotely competitive in NFL betting lines. The Saints proved why they are the top seed in the NFC as they routed Arizona 45-14 in NFL odds. Drew Brees was excellent and Reggie Bush produced the big plays that he is capable of. How much of that was the talent of New Orleans is somewhat debatable since Arizona’s defense was simply awful. Bush had a great 46-yard TD run and an 83-yard punt return for a TD. "So much for being rusty," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "That bye week was critical, getting guys healthy. I knew we were ready, the way we worked all week, and we were confident in what we were going to do." Now the Saints are favored against the Minnesota Vikings in NFL odds. New Orleans is laying 4.5 points with a total of 52.5 in NFL betting lines. The Saints had not won a game by more than three points since late November so the rout of Arizona proved they are back.
The Saints will face a Minnesota team that was very impressive last week in a 34-3 rout of Dallas in NFL odds. Brett Favre threw for four TDs as the Vikings remained unbeaten at home. Sidney Rice had three of the TD catches for Minnesota. Favre was 15 for 24 for 234 yards. "Today was like this season: It's been wonderful," said Favre.
In the AFC it will be the NFL betting lines underdog New York Jets against Peyton Manning and the Colts. Manning won his fourth MVP award this season and he threw for two touchdowns in the 20-3 NFL odds win over Baltimore. Manning was 30 of 44 for 246 yards. Indianapolis is in the AFC title game for the second time in the last four years. Three years ago they won the Super Bowl at the same site, (Miami) where Super Bowl XLIV will be held.
