AFC West 2009 NFL Draft Odds

2009 NFL Draft odds on the AFC West are going to be perhaps the most interesting of any division.

The AFC West has a lot of picks in 2009 NFL Draft betting, many of which are early.  The Kansas City Chiefs have the third pick, the Raiders are 7th, the Broncos 12th and San Diego is 16th. Denver also has the 18th pick that they got from Chicago.

2009 NFL Draft odds are predicting that Kansas City will take Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry with the third overall pick.  If there is one pick in the first round that seems set in 2009 NFL Draft odds it seems to be this one. Curry is a perfect fit for what the Chiefs need.

Oakland really needs a receiver to open up their offense and they should be able to get a very good one with the 7th overall pick in 2009 NFL Draft odds.  Most 2009 NFL Draft betting experts have them taking Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree or Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin with this pick.  If the Raiders want to go with an offensive lineman then they might take Virginia’s Eugene Monroe in 2009 NFL Draft odds.

Denver made the most offseason news by trading quarterback Jay Cutler.  Now they will need to make some serious news in 2009 NFL Draft odds considering they have two top 20 picks. Denver really needs some interior help so they may look to the offensive and defensive lines in 2009 NFL Draft odds.  Some people have them taking USC quarterback Mark Sanchez in 2009 NFL Draft betting but that seems unlikely considering they have Kyle Orton and Chris Simms competing for the job.  LSU defensive lineman Tyson Jackson would be a good pick in 2009 NFL Draft odds.  Some 2009 NFL Draft betting experts see the Broncos taking a shot with Ohio State’s Chris Wells with one of their first two picks.

San Diego really has some needs on defense.  They might look to take someone like Florida State’s Everette brown or Tennessee’s Robert Ayers in 2009 NFL Draft odds. They might also surprise people in 2009 NFL Draft odds and take a running back such as Ohio State’s Chris Wells’ or Connecticut’s Donald Brown. It is also quite possible the Chargers will trade this pick since they currently have no second round selections in 2009 NFL Draft odds.
