Baltimore Ravens 2006 Review

2007 Preview:  The Ravens have an optimistic outlook for 2007 football betting season.  The offense looks solid with quarterback Steve McNair at the helm and the addition of running back Willis McGahee should make up for the loss of Jamal Lewis. Losing Adalius Thomas does hurt and the Ravens defense may suffer because of the loss.  Overall though, the Ravens have enough talent to make another playoff run.

The 2007 football betting schedule includes home/away games with their AFC North Division rivals of Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Cleveland. The Ravens also get the weaker NFC West along with the AFC East. The Ravens need to play well early in the football betting season because the latter part of the NFL betting schedule, especially the last six weeks are brutal with games at San Diego, Miami and Seattle and home games against Pittsburgh, New England and Indianapolis. Baltimore has three Monday night games on the NFL betting schedule.

Offense: The offense is led by Steve McNair. The veteran quarterback knows how to get the job done and has some decent weapons to throw to. Todd Heap is an excellent tight end and receivers Mark Clayton and Derrick Mason look solid. The good news for the offense is that running back Willis McGahee will be better than Jamal Lewis was. That should help the offense become more explosive in 2007.

Defense: The defense was great again led by Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Losing Adalius Thomas does hurt and the defense may suffer a letdown but it should still be good enough to lead the division. The Baltimore Ravens have Lewis, Reed and Terrell Suggs to lead the way. The Ravens defense led the league in yards allowed and points allowed in 2006 football betting season. They may drop a little, but should still be solid in 2007 football betting season.

Forecast: Losing Thomas hurts, but the Baltimore Ravens have enough defensive strength to still play well. If McNair can continue to make the throws and if McGahee plays as expected, the Ravens should make the playoffs and be a serious playoff threat in NFL betting lines.
