2007 Outlook
Key Signings: T Joe Thomas (draft), QB Brady Quinn (draft), RB Jamal Lewis
Key Loss: RB Reuben Droughns
Key Player: RB Jamal Lewis
2007 Football Betting Season Preview: Getting Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn in the draft looks good on the surface but the Browns passed on a future superstar in Adrian Peterson and it may come back to haunt them, which will show in football betting lines.
Quinn is probably years away from contributing and although Thomas is going to be good, Peterson may end up being great for football betting on the team. The Browns have Charlie Frye at quarterback and he does not throw fear into any opposing defenses. The Browns got Jamal Lewis from Baltimore in the off-season but most football betting experts think he is well past his prime.
The 2007 football betting schedule includes home/away games with their AFC North Division rivals of Baltimore, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. The Cleveland Browns also get the weaker NFC West along with the AFC East. The football betting schedule looks reasonable for the Browns but when you are one of the worst teams in the league there are no easy games on the football betting schedule.

Offense: It is hard to see how the offense could be much worse for NFL betting fans than it was in 2006 football betting season but not much was done to upgrade it in the football betting off-season. Quinn is not an immediate solution and Lewis looked slow as Baltimore’s starting running back. The only way the offense improves is if Jamal Lewis surprises and plays to his old form and if someone decides they want to play quarterback at an NFL level. The offensive line will definitely be improved with the addition of Thomas. He should anchor that line for a long time to come. Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow can catch the ball but they need someone to get them the ball on a regular basis to become a good NFL betting pick.
Defense: The defense is decent in Cleveland but they spend too much time on the field according to football betting experts. The linebackers are good and the secondary is decent. Overall there is some talent on defense with Sean Jones and Brodney Pool leading the secondary and LB Andra Davis leading the linebackers, but the defense is not good enough to win games on its own. This aspect has to be considered when making football betting picks from NFL betting lines.
NFL Football Betting Forecast: Brady Quinn is the future for the Browns at quarterback but it is unlikely he will start the football betting season under center. Frye will probably start the season until Quinn is ready. The offense will depend upon Jamal Lewis returning to his form of a couple of years ago. If that does not happen then it’s going to be a long year for Cleveland and football betting fans, and probably the last one for head coach Crennel.
