A major key to finally getting over the hump was PK Adam Vinatieri who the Colts got from the Patriots. The big play in the 2006 NFL betting season was a third down stop against New England that allowed the Colts to get the ball back and drive down for the winning score. This key player will be something to consider when looking at football betting lines and football betting seasons to come.

In a nut shell, 2006 was the football betting season that Colts fans everywhere have been waiting eight football betting years for. Ever since Peyton Manning was drafted number one over all and the franchise was in the dumps, NFL betting fans have been ever faithful that this day would come. When all the smoke settled on last year’s exciting football betting season, the Colts had finally done it. The Golden Boy Peyton Manning had finally led the team to a Super Bowl title. But what a wild ride it was for both, the team and NFL betting fans. Taking a cue from last football betting year’s champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers, it seemed as though, the Colts were determined to take the unconventional route to the Super Bowl trophy, but judging by the results, who can argue with their madness in their method? Football betting fans were satisfied with the results giving them a great NFL betting season.
The Colts started off on tear as they have lost every year for the past half dozen of year football betting seasons. There was ever all the usual talk about the perfect football betting season and going undefeated. And the talk was even louder this football betting year early on considering the relatively easy schedule the Colts had, playing as they do in such a crummy division. But they soon lost their first game and then couldn’t seem to shake the habit. What had started as a promising NLF betting campaign surrounded in perfect football betting season quickly turned into Toad’s Wild Ride. This team hit the skids getting beat up by teams like Houston and the Jaguars and Tennessee and all of a sudden this team was in crisis mode on the football betting time period. NFL betting followers were afraid.
The Colts fans hadn’t seen this type of slide in NFL betting years. They were accustomed to 13 and 14 win football betting seasons and all of a sudden it looked as if the good times were over and Manning had lost his magic. But the Colts quickly regrouped and General Manning led them to a very respectable 12-4 football betting record although it was a far cry the hot start the team got off to. And worse than that, the team locked wounded going into the playoffs and everyone had basically written them off. It was the same old Colts team as usual. No toughness, very soft and just like a convertible top, fold up any time it gets nasty out.
But Colts and NFL betting fans were pleasantly surprised. This team showed some back bone and got the job done. In the first game of the football betting playoffs the Colts faced the so-so Chiefs who had snuck into the playoffs with a very mediocre record and very disappointing football betting season. However, despite being at home and despite having a much better record, there many pundits who were expecting the Colts to get slaughtered during the football betting time period. The Colts run defense especially between the tackles had been soft all football betting season long and had been extremely exposed in a couple of late football betting season losses. Since the Chiefs had the all pro stud Larry Johnson running the ball in the back field, the Chiefs were expected to hog the ball, burning seconds off the clock, pounding it down the Colts’ throat and keeping Manning off the field.
The plan looked good on paper but didn’t quite work. The Colts run defense was exceptional and they sent the Chiefs packing. The same thing happened the next week when this dome team had to travel to frigid Baltimore to take on a very impressive Ravens team that had come out of nowhere to finish with a 13-3 NFL betting record. The Baltimore secondary, one of the best and most physical in the league, was expected to give Manning fits in coverage and with stunt blitzes at the line. However, nothing seemed to rattle Manning and after jumping out to an early lead put in on cruise control to close out the game. It was a great game for football betting followers.
Then, the real challenge came, the insurmountable challenge: the New England Patriots. This team was Manning’s Kryptonite. This was the team QB’d by Tom Brady, the guy who never loses in the playoffs. This it the guy that always beats Peyton in football betting games and never breaks a sweat doing it. But on this day in January it was Peyton who would emerge triumphant. Manning played a great game and once again his defense stepped up big to help him out for a change. And on the frigid tundra in Foxboro, Manning and his teammates got their first shot at the Super Bowl in sunny Miami and everyone remembers how that ended. The Colts dominated and were crowned champs, finally.
