New York Jets 2006 Review

2007 Preview:  Football betting fans see that the 2007 New York Jets will try and improve upon their 10-6 record from 2006 and that will be tough to do.  NFL betting fans know that nothing the Jets did last year was impressive but they won 10 games.  Football betting that they made a trade in the off-season to upgrade the running game picking up RB Thomas Jones from the Bears. The 2007 schedule includes home/away games with their AFC East Division rivals of Miami, Buffalo and New England. The Jets also face the tough NFC East in addition to having games against the AFC South and AFC North. They also close out the season against AFC West contender Kansas City in what will be Kansas City head coach Herman Edwards’ first game against his former team since leaving after the 2005 season.

Offense:  Football betting fans know that the offense is led by the unspectacular but efficient quarterback Chad Pennington.  He should get some help this season with the addition of Thomas Jones.  Football betting fans know that combined with Leon Washington, Jones should really help the Jets in the rushing game.  NFL betting fans know that the Jets have two solid receivers in Coles and Cotchery.  Football betting fans think that the key for the offense will be keeping Pennington healthy.

Defense: Football betting fans believe that the defense will get immediate help from top draft choice Darrelle Revis.  That addition should help the secondary improve upon last year’s numbers that had them 13th against the pass.

Forecast: Football betting fans might think that the Jets have nowhere to go but down after a 10-6 season that surprised many people.  The problem with that thinking is head coach Mangini.  He looks like a winner and somehow finds ways to win.  Football betting fans believe that the Jets are beginning to look like a New England Patriots model and that is not a bad thing.  Football betting fans know that the schedule is tough but if Pennington stays healthy and Jones contributes, the Jets can make a playoff run again.
