The Redskins were 7-9 in over/under NFL Odds in 2007. Let’s take a look at more NFL Odds numbers for the Washington Redskins. NFL game odds show that the Redskins made the playoffs but lost in the first round to Seattle. It was a difficult season for Washington with the death of Sean Taylor impacting them greatly. The future is uncertain in terms of NFL betting odds for Washington.
The team has talent in many areas but also has a number of weaknesses. The Redskins will be led by new head coach Jim Zorn who replaces the retired Joe Gibbs. That could be good news or bad news for Washington in terms of NFL Odds. It was obvious that the Redskins were not going to make any major noise in NFL Game Odds with Gibbs at the helm. The offense has some talent with Jason Campbell and Clinton Portis. They also have solid receivers in Santana Moss and tight end Chris Cooley. Getting these players to produce will be Zorn’s job. The offense was 15th in total yards according to NFL Odds stats. They were 20th in points scored according to NFL Odds numbers.
NFL Odds show that the defense looks good for Washington. They have talent up and down the roster with Andre Carter, Shawn Springs, Fred Smoot and LaRon Landry. The defense ranked 7th in the NFL in yards allowed in 2007 according to NFL Game Odds numbers. They were 11th in points allowed according to NFL Game Odds numbers. The Redskins do need to address depth at defensive tackle, offensive tackle, safety and cornerback if they are to improve versus NFL Odds. Adding a receiver to complement Moss would also help Washington in NFL Odds since Antwaan Randall El is suited to be a slot receiver not a number two.
The Redskins will also need to look for outside linebacker help as starter Rocky McIntosh had ACL and MCL injuries and may not be ready immediately. London Fletcher did a nice job after coming over from the Bills but the Redskins are getting older at this position.
