NHL Betting on the Vancouver Canucks at SBG Global

NHL betting on the Vancouver Canucks was far from successful last year as the team failed to provide the online NHL betting value that many NHL betting analysts expected from the squad.

The Canucks finished at the very bottom of the Northwest Division, which is not very typical for this storied NHL franchise. Also, the Canucks have shown no clear trends that are useful in NHL betting on the team’s totals.

NHL betting on the Canucks was quite successful two seasons ago, when the team reached the Western Conference Semi-Finals after finishing the NHL betting regular season with an excellent 49-26-7 record. This finish had NHL betting expectations high for the 2007-08 season, but NHL betting veterans know the team failed to live up to these expectations. Last year, Vancouver posted a miserable 39-33-10 record that put the team at the bottom of its division and far away from the playoffs. Vancouver played somewhat respectably at home, posting a 21-15 record, but on the road the Canucks failed to offer much of any NHL betting value. Such failure was very surprising to many online NHL betting analysts, especially given the team’s recent success and high level of talent on the roster.

Throughout the season, online NHL betting on the Canucks’ totals remained quite typical, as the team maintained a fairly balanced record against the NHL betting totals. Consequently, any NHL betting fans who consistently wagered on either the over or under probably did not enjoy much success. On the other hand, NHL betting fans who varied their NHL betting on Vancouver totals may have enjoyed much better success. However, NHL betting on the Canucks’ totals and sides may change dramatically in the 2008-09 season. During the offseason the Canucks got rid of their general manager and also lost several key players, which is worrisome to many NHL betting analysts. For instance, Luc Bourdon tragically died in a motorcycle accident, Trevor Linden retired, and Markus Naslund, the franchise’s all-time top scorer, left for the New York Rangers. Nevertheless, the Canucks acquired promising forward Steve Bernier and free agent Pavol Demitra, who could both help the team return to the spotlight. Therefore, as the 2008-09 online NHL betting season approaches many gamblers do not know exactly what to expect from the Vancouver Canucks. The team certainly has the potential to shock the NHL betting community and provide excellent value, but NHL betting fans should also be aware that the team’s many losses may inevitably lead to a very rough season in 2008-09.
