Blackjack Tournaments
Blackjack Tournaments are easy and fun. The goal is to have more chips remaining than your opponents after a set amount of hands. You can win by one chip or many chips; the player with the most chips when all of the rounds have been completed is the winner. Players compete against the dealer but there is no house advantage in the game. You are playing against other players trying to end up with the most chips. Blackjack tournaments are a mix of strategy, betting and luck.
Playing a Blackjack Tournament
Your first decision is whether you want to play in the FREE games section which uses play money or the REAL money section which uses money you have deposited into your account. REAL money games can only be played if you have an active balance in your account. If you do not have enough money in your account to play then you will not have the option to sit at the table. Your Blackjack balance is linked to your current account balance.
There are two types of Blackjack Tournaments, Single and Multi. Choose which type of tournament you want and select it from the menu. You can choose to play or to watch a game.
Check out the 'Helpful Hints' page if you want more information about playing in the tournament. These are useful and will give you a good guide as to how the game will be played.
Note that you are not charged for sitting at a table until after the Countdown Clock has run out. Once this clock has run out you will be charged for the table. You can leave a table at anytime by clicking 'Quit' or by clicking 'X' to end your session. During game play you have 20 seconds to make a decision. If you do not make a decision within that time period the software will automatically place a minimum bet for you. During play a button will indicate first base. That is the position that bets and plays first.
Single Table Blackjack Tournaments
Single Tournaments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are either Head to Head (Mano a Mano) or Sit-n-Go.
Head to Head (Mano a Mano) Blackjack Tournaments
This is a two player tournament match lasting 10 rounds, winner takes all. There is a 10 second countdown once two players have joined the match before it begins.
Sit-n-Go
Sit n go black tournaments consist of 3-8 players, 10 round matches with the top two players getting paid. Prize details are located to the right. There is a two minute countdown once at least three players have joined the table before play begins.
Multi-Table Blackjack Tournaments
Multi-Tournaments are shown on the games menu schedule. You can choose to enter one of these tournaments by registering on the tournament of your choice. Tournaments begin within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time. The Tournament Director will provide tournament details as levels are being set. As you advance to the next level of the tournament you may have to wait as other tables finish play. The prizes depend upon the number of players in the tournament.
Loyalty and Victory Point Tournaments
Each month a Loyalty Point Tournament is held with players using loyalty points earned in Blackjack play to enter. Prizes are given away each month to the winners. Victory points are also accumulated in Blackjack Tournament play and these points can be used to play in weekly Victory Point Tournaments. Prizes are awarded to the winners of these tournaments.
Blackjack Tournament Rules
- User Names cannot be changed except under extreme circumstances. How players bet and an understanding of a player’s personality is an important part of tournament blackjack and therefore, we do not allow players to change their user name.
- We do not tolerate cheating in any form. The following are considered forms of cheating and immediate termination of your account and all or part of your account balance may be confiscated:
- Collusion - playing with other player(s) in an attempt to gain an advantage over other players.
- Using multiple accounts.
- Card counting software or any other type of software used for the purpose of gaining an advantage over other players.
- Chip dumping or losing to another player on purpose.
- We may close, block or suspend any account that is suspected of any cheating and withhold or confiscate all or part of the account balance.
- Internet connections: If you experience a problem with your Internet and lose connection, the game will wait a short time for your connection to be re-established. You will also receive a message when you have a slow connection that may be causing you problems. When you have a disconnection problem you can re-enter the game by going back to the lobby and reconnecting. If you can’t establish a connection again the game will automatically make the minimum bet for you and will always hit on 11 or under and stand on 12 or more. You will be noted as offline when you connection is disrupted.
- Slow play is not allowed and we may take action where appropriate.
- In any of these situations or other situations, we and our affiliates, agents and licensors will not be liable for any loss resulting from delays or interruptions to play of any cause whatsoever. We will always try and solve any problems that occur but make no guarantees.
Single Table Tournament Rules
- If two or more players are below the minimum bet amount before the last hand then a tie will be called and the two players will split the winnings, even if the chip balances are not the same. This only applies when both players are below the minimum bet amount on the last hand of the tournament.
- If we have a server crash and chips remain, then if the table has not gone past the 7th hand the game will be cancelled and all entries refunded. If the players have completed the 7th hand then the ending chip balances at that point will determine the winners and they will be paid according to the payout structure of the tournament.
Multi-Table Tournament Rules
- Slow players may be disconnected from a Multi-table tournament at anytime according to our discretion. The slow play level will be decided and acted upon at our discretion.
- You are disqualified from the tournament if you are “offline” or not active through the 10th hand of any level except for the last level. This will include players that are present but don’t act and let their time run out. With the last level of a multi-table tournament the disqualification will occur at the 5th hand if the player is offline or non-active.
- In the event that multiple players do not make it to the last round, the one who reached the farthest will be the one to advance. If a player goes below the minimum bet amount and cannot advance they will lose to a person who reaches a further hand in the tournament.
- If there are two or more players that can’t make the minimum bet amount in the same hand then the player with the higher chip count gets the higher ranking. If the players have identical chip amounts then the player who led the previous hand will be ranked higher.
- If the tournament has server trouble and is not completed then all entries will be refunded and the tournament cancelled.
