Republican National Convention at SBG Global

Republican National Convention begins on Monday, September 1st and concludes with John McCain accepting the nomination on Thursday, September 4th.

The Republican National Convention will be important to McCain as he looks to make some gains in political betting against Democratic candidate Barack Obama. Republican National Convention speakers for Monday include President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

They will try and rally the delegates and then McCain will push them aside as he tries to distance himself from the Bush Presidency and some of the failed Republican policies of the past eight years. The Tuesday schedule at the Republican National Convention will start to move things in a different direction as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is the keynote speaker.

Also on the schedule for the Republican National Convention on Tuesday are former governors Tom Ridge and Mike Huckabee. The conservative side of the party will be happy to hear from former senator Fred Thompson on Tuesday. Wednesday’s schedule for the Republican National Convention will focus on McCain’s play for America and include speakers Cindy McCain and the vice presidential nominee.

Two of the leading contenders for that spot in political betting just happen to be scheduled to speak on Wednesday. They are Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and former governor Mitt Romney. The Republican National Convention concludes on Thursday with John McCain making his acceptance speech and outlining his plan for America.

This will be a key date for McCain in political betting circles as he looks to gain in the political betting polls. Also on the Republican National Convention schedule for Thursday are Senators Sam Brownback, Lindsey Graham, former Senator Bill First and others.

The 2008 Republican National Convention is being held at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota and is expected to draw approximately 45,000 delegates. Political betting history tells us that this is the second time in Republican Party history that Minnesota has hosted the Republican National Convention.

In 1892 the Party nominated Benjamin Harrison at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
