Dramatic Preakness Stakes Odds at SBG Global

The middle jewel of horse racing’s Triple Crown is expected to have a filly as the favorite at the sports book in Preakness Stakes betting.

Preakness Stakes odds are likely to favor the filly Rachel Alexandra on Saturday as she runs against the boys.  Rarely is a filly ever favored against males, especially in a Triple Crown race like Preakness Stakes odds, but this is no average filly.  Rachel Alexandra won the Kentucky Oaks by more than 20 lengths.  Her Preakness Stakes odds jockey, Calvin Borel, has said she is better than any of the male or female horses in the country.  After her win in the Oaks the horse was sold to Jess Jackson’s group who owns Curlin.  She will now be bred with Curlin after her racing career has ended.  She also has a new trainer in Steve Asmussen.  She won’t have a new jockey though in Preakness Stakes betting. Preakness Stakes odds are limited to 14 horse and it looks like a full field will go to the post on Saturday.  If more than 14 horses are entered in Preakness Stakes odds then Rachel Alexandra would get bumped since she was not nominated to the Triple Crown series.  Some owners had expressed an interest in shutting out Rachel Alexandra in Preakness Stakes betting but that doesn’t seem likely now, especially with all of the problems horse racing is having.  The last thing the sport needs is another negative story so it is expected that Rachel Alexandra will be part of the Preakness Stakes odds field at the sports book.

Rachel Alexandra will be the favorite in Preakness Stakes odds and she is working well leading up to Preakness Stakes betting. "Rachel Alexandra had an impressive workout today and she is ready to run in the Preakness," Jackson said.  Her trainer in Preakness Stakes odds, Steve Asmussen was also pleased, "I think she's doing extremely well," he said, "Every sight of her has been impressive and I'm just happy to get this light move in this morning under good conditions."
