Alabama Moves Past Florida to #1Sports Betting
Florida has been at #1 since the preseason but Alabama has been gaining ground each week and took over the top spot. Online sports betting had the Gators just getting by Arkansas while Alabama looked solid in a win over South Carolina.
Sports betting had Alabama receiving 39 out of 59 first place votes with Florida receiving the other 20. Texas remained at #3 in the poll as online sports betting had it, followed by USC, Cincinnati and Boise State. The Broncos were not impressive in their win this week over Tulsa and they did not cover the online sports betting odds at the sportsbook. Sports betting showed that Iowa has moved into the Top 10 at #7 followed by Miami, LSU and TCU.
Sports betting had Alabama starting the season at #5 and they have gradually moved up each week. Last year the Crimson Tide was #1 for five weeks but it didn’t matter as they lost the SEC title game to Florida. The same sports betting scenario could happen again this year as both teams look on a collision course.
Florida lost their top spot in the rankings due to a poor online sports betting outing against Arkansas where they needed a last second field goal to win. They were not that impressive in previous weeks in online sportsbook results against Tennessee and LSU. The Crimson Tide has been more impressive winning their four SEC games by an average of 19 points per game. Florida’s SEC wins have been by 14 points per game.
The second ten in the AP poll begins with Georgia Tech who moved up eight spots to #11 as sports betting indicated. The Yellow Jackets were an impressive sports betting winner against Virginia Tech who dropped all the way to #15 after being #4. At #12 is Oregon followed by Penn State and Oklahoma State. At #16 is BYU followed by Houston, Ohio State, Utah and Pittsburgh. The Buckeyes dropped 11 spots as sports betting shows. Texas Tech is #21 as sports betting indicated followed by West Virginia, South Carolina, Kansas and Oklahoma. Sports betting history shows that the Sooners are the first team with a 3-3 record to be ranked since 2005. Sports betting had three teams falling out of the rankings, Notre Dame, South Florida and Nebraska.
