Betting Parlays at a Sportsbook at SBG Global
It used to be that offshore sportsbook parlays were considered a losing proposition, but that is not always the case.
Sportsbook parlays are sometimes designed to suck in the public with the promise of a big return for a small investment. Most of the time the public puts too many teams in their sportsbook betting parlays and that is almost always a sure way to lose. There are a couple reasons for offshore sportsbook betting players to consider parlays though. The first reason to bet a parlay is your expected return. If you are a good handicapper, sportsbook betting parlays can be a good way to increase your return. The problem is that most people are not good handicappers and that means their return at the offshore sportsbook goes down.
The second main reason to bet a sportsbook parlay is that you can key on a certain team to increase the chances of your parlays becoming profitable. When you have a key team you like, you can put that team in multiple parlays at the sportsbook and increase the probability of higher payoffs. The big thing with a key parlay is that your main game has to win.
There are also some disadvantages to playing sportsbook parlays. The first disadvantage to playing a parlay is that you have to win multiple games for the wager to pay off at the sportsbook. You could win 10 games and lose 10 games on a given week, but if you played a variety of parlays, your losses could really add up. Another disadvantage to playing parlays is that multiple team parlays like 4 or 5 teamers are usually not going to be good investments at the sportsbook. You could go 3-1 on a four-team parlay and end up with a losing bet. If you had bet those games straight you would have picked up money instead of losing money.
The reason a sportsbook loves parlays is that a 50 percent handicapper will almost always lose. Even an above average handicapper will probably lose parlays unless they are kept to small parlays at the offshore sportsbook. Another disadvantage is the parlay card. They are almost always bad bets because they have different rules than the regular “off the board” parlays.
The thing with parlays is that if you are a good handicapper they can give you another possible edge over the sportsbook.
