UFC Odds vs. Boxing Odds

UFC odds are the new kid on the block in terms of fighting sports, whereas boxing is the aging veteran in the online sports books.

It’s become very evident in the past few years that the new kid is threatening to overtake the wily vet as demand for UFC betting odds continues to grow. These two sports, both based on hand to hand combat are two very different animals and in the long run UFC odds look like they’re set on a trajectory to wipe boxing odds off the face of the earth.

UFC odds are now widely available and are reaching a point where they are arguably more accessible than boxing odds in the online sports books. For fans new to the world of UFC odds that might not seem that unusual of a statement but for anyone that has been involved with sports wagering for any length of time it’s very weird. There was a time not all that long ago that idea of UFC betting odds being more popular than boxing odds would have sounded ridiculous. UFC odds betting was a fringe activity that would die and would never gain a national audience –so thought many traditional boxing fans.

But time has proven otherwise and now UFC betting odds are everywhere. For anyone that has seen boxing as well as UFC odds action, it’s very easy to see why the UFC odds are in such high demand relative to the sweet science. Boxing in its essence is simply punching. What makes UFC odds fighting so appealing is that it not only included punching, but also incorporates elements of kick-boxing, wrestling, and various martial arts disciplines. That’s a pretty full plate for UFC odds fans and boxing pales in comparison.

Boxing is still a terrific sport, but for the new generation of fans reared on 24/7 news cycles and instant gratification, they rarely take the time to learn about the science of boxing and instead are dazzled by the UFC odds highlights. And that’s the reason why boxing is dying while UFC odds are thriving. Boxing is one-dimensional while the UFC odds fighting is multi-faceted and fast-paced.

Fans today don’t want to see boxers play out their strategy; they’d rather see fighters in the UFC betting odds beat each other’s brains in. The UFC odds fights are also much quicker with none of them going more than a few rounds whereas the boxing can last up to 12 rounds.

Boxing had its day in the sun and unfortunately it looks more and more like that day has ended. But so long as there remain terrific entities like the UFC odds fighting to take its place it will not be the end of sport betting on fights.
