Side & Total UFL Betting
In the first season of UFL odds there will be four teams on the board each week for a couple of months. Here is a look at the basic side & total options in UFL betting.
UFL betting on pointspread/side/line numbers is the most common form of sportsbook betting. This is where a pointspread line is set by the oddsmakers that supposedly will even out the appeal on both teams in UFL odds. For example, if Las Vegas was playing San Francisco the Las Vegas team might be favored by a field goal. If sports book gamblers wanted to take Las Vegas in UFL betting they would have to lay three points to San Francisco. So in essence the San Francisco team would have a 3-0 lead to start the game in terms of the UFL betting pointspread. If Las Vegas won the game by more than three points then they would cover the UFL betting number. Conversely, if San Francisco won the game or lost by one or two points then the wager on them in UFL betting would be a winner. If Las Vegas won by exactly three points then the wager would be a tie and all money in UFL betting on the side wager would be refunded.
Over/Unders, also known as totals, is another popular form of UFL betting in which gamblers wager on whether or not the combined score of a game between two teams will go over or under a number set by the UFL odds makers. For example, if the Las Vegas/San Francisco game had a total of 42, and the game ended Las Vegas 21 and San Francisco 20 the combined score would be 41, which would make the game an “under.” As with sides, all ties come with a refund in UFL odds.
Regardless if you bet sides or totals in UFL betting, you will pay a ten-percent service charge known as “juice” or “vig” on each wager that you make. For example, if you wanted to bet Las Vegas at -3 to win $100, you would have to wager $110. That ten-percent “vig” is the charge that the sportsbook makes for booking the action. All winning wagers, of course, return all stake and juice money to the gamblers but all losing wagers include that ten-percent. And since the idea of the pointspread and total numbers is to attract equal action on both sides, the sports book will simply pocket that profit regardless of results.
UFL betting will only last a couple of months from October through November but it should be exciting.
